Thanksgiving

So I hope all of you had a good Thanksgiving. List me one thing you did, or something good that you ate.

I went up to my husband's families house, and had really good stuffing, turkey, and something called pumpkin supreme pie. It tastes better than just normal pumpkin pie.

Well class, here is my little baby girl named Mikayla Jane Voorhees.

Her birthday was Oct. 14th.

OFF TRACK

So what are you doing for fun while you are OFF TRACK!!!

I will be obviously having a baby, which I'll put up a picture for you to see. I will also be able to catch up on a few movies that I haven't seen, and will get to visit family at our Halloween Party.

BIZTOWN!!!!

So what did you think of Biztown? We were able to go on Oct. 7th, and the businesses that we had were:

1. Larry H. Miller

2. First Security Bank

3. Best Buy

4. JA T.V.

So after going, what do you think the best part about it was, or what do you think the hardest part about learning about it was. I think going is lots of fun, and no matter what job you had, the day was still exciting.

Book Reports!!!

We just finished doing our Biography Book Reports....

There were a TON of really good ideas, and there were a lot of people that did their information correctly.

What did you like about doing your book report, or who's book report was your favorite to listen to?

How is Class going???

So it has been 5 weeks since we started class!!! So what has been your favorite thing about class, or what we do? What might you still be nervous about?

My favorite thing is having a bunch of fun students in class, and the fact that many of you are very good in class and do what is asked of you.

The one thing that I am still nervous about, is that some of you still don't turn in your homework, or finish work when needed. ~Mrs. V~

Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year at Midas Creek Elementary. I am looking forward to being your teacher this year, and we should have a lot of fun. This website is designed to help and enhance home to school communication. Please refer to it periodically to see what is going on in the classroom.

End of School

So we are getting close to the end of your 5th grade school year. Soon you will be 6th graders, YAY!!

So write down one or two of your favorite memories, or one or two things you will miss from 5th grade.

Mine:

1. This amazing class that I've had. I've never had all the students last through the whole year with no move ins or move outs.

2. How you make me laugh, and ask me questions all the time. It's fun to have students that want to talk to the teacher, or tell them stories.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

We have our tests from June 1 to June 9th. Tell me how you feel? Are you worried, nervous, do you think something will be easy, what do you think will be hard. Etc?

Just relax, try your best, eat a good breakfast, get enough sleep, and do the best that you can. That is all you should worry about, doing the best that you can do, not the best that everyone else can do.

Here is the dance that we are performing later on. Please practice so that you know the steps really well. This way when we practice once we come back on track, we'll be able to stay together as a group.

We are having a fun COMPETITION for March Madness. Students win a surprise for doing as many tests as they can, or by improving the best in YPP. So try your hardest, and you'll see the prizes at the end of this month.
